Law No. 14.550/2023 amends the Maria da Penha Law to expand the use of urgent protective measures for women victims of violence. The law specifies that protective measures may be granted regardless of whether a police report is filed and allows the extension of their duration if the victim remains at risk. It also clarifies that the motive for the violence or the condition of the aggressor or victim does not exclude the application of the law.
